Like my friend Catsudon, I have installed this anti spam pluggin on my blog. Anyone with a WordPress powered blog is susceptible to these stupid spammers who leave their lame comments(99% of which are for online poker websites) on the comments section. Today alone I had 70 such comments left on my site. The day before I got bombarded with over 100. I have filters in place to catch these sort of comments, but I still have to deleted the filtered comments and that can be a pain.

What these idiots have done is that they have automated the process, so that a computer is set up to repeatedly spam comment boards instead of having an actual person sit there and submit them all.

So…this new plugin generates a random image with some numbers on it. So before you submit a comment from now on, you just need to type in the numbers from the image. Something only a human can do. Computers aren’t smart enough (YET!) to deciper numbers on an image and then enter them into a field…thus rendering these spamming computers useless.
