What a night for baseball in Southern California! Today both the Anaheim Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched division titles. Two SoCal teams going to the playoffs. Amazing. This is gonna be a sweet playoffs. I’m looking foward to it.

I think I’m one of the rare ones that like both the Angels and the Dodgers. I grew up 15 minutes from Edision Field (Anaheim Stadium back then) and I attended quite a few games with friends and later coworkers. But I was also a fan of the Dodgers, although I didn’t attend any games until I hit college.

When the Dodgers last won the World Series back in 1988, it was exciting. They beat Oakland, a team I liked because of Mark McGwire and Jose Canseco, but it’s all about the hometeam. And when the Angels made it to the World Series and won it all back in 2002, I was thrilled. I remember being glued to the TV watching the World Series when I was at the hospital after our daughter Jessica was born. I’ll never forget that time….the elation I felt at becoming a parent and watching the Angels win the championship was amazing.

Now with the birth of our second child around the corner, it would be sweet for the Angels or Dodgers to win the World Series. It would be especially sweet for a SoCal team to win it seeing that my beloved Lakers are heading in the opposite direction. I’m not sure who I’m going to root for though if the Angels and Dodgers both make it to the World Series. But what’s the chance of that happening? Well then again, at the beginning of the season who would of thought that both teams would make it this far?
