Well I’ve been at work for 30 minutes so far, and it’s been relatively calm. Let’s hope it stays this way(I doubt it!).
Well, now I can finally blog! So let’s see. Yesterday we had a doctor appointment. Jane seriously wants to deliver the baby right now. Her body iches all over…she says it’s not a normal itch that you scratch and it goes away. It’s an intense itch that lingers the entire day. She asked the doctor if there is anything she can do to make it go away. His answer, “Yeah…deliver the baby.” Funny guy. She asked if she can use itch cream, and he said no. Well over the last few days, she’s developed what looks like a bad rash. It started around her belly, and is now on her legs and arms. And she says it itches like mad. Yesterday the doctor gave her the ok to use some Benadryl itch cream or this Aveeno oatmeal bath, both of which are supposed to help a little.(By the way, it took me about 20 minutes to write this paragraph, because the phones have been ringing like crazy. I spoke too soon about it being relatively calm.)
Last night, Jane did some research online and she found these Websites that showed pictures of the same type of rash that she has. It’s a condition called PUPPP(Pruritic Urticarial Papules and Plaques of Pregnancy). It occurs in 1 out of 300 pregnancies. Just our luck! Anyways, on this discussion board, that they have on one of the sites, here are some of the things that women who have had PUPPP have said:
“PUPPP is the worst, most miserable thing that has ever happened to me.”
“I thought I was going to die!!!”
“I’m praying to God to make it go away!!”
“What an incredible discomfort. I’ve never experienced anything quite like it before.”
“The MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN MY LIFE!!”
