Optimization
4/1/04
Today I re-optimized the graphics on the site. File size for a lot
of the graphics has been reduced to increase load time. If you are
on a broadband connection, you will probably not notice. But for you
poor saps still on dial-up, you may notice that the site loads a tad faster.
Updates

Today I did some major upgrades to this site. I implemented a
new php script. So now all of the cards created are stored in
a MySQL database. That does't do much for you, the user. But it
makes my life a thousand times easier. :) With the new script,
the deleting of old postcards will be automated, so now instead
of the 7 day limit, cards will be archived for 14 days. The new
script also adds a few new options. I'll go more into that later.

Well the biggest change is that the site is back up. A few weeks
ago I decided to permanently shut down the site. I had just moved
from one Web host to another, and the new server did not take
well to my CGI/Perl script that was running the site. I have since
switched to PHP and that seems to be doing well. Time will tell
whether the server can handle it. But it looks promising. Enjoy!
